We are a UK-based organisation that will be making standard or enhanced applications in relation to positions where work is in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. Can we become a registered body with Disclosure Scotland?
No. Positions in England and Wales, and those in Northern Ireland are covered by different versions of the Order made under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 from the Order which applies in Scotland. The effect of this difference is that no proper standard or enhanced disclosure could be provided by Disclosure Scotland for a post where the work is in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. In these instances you will have to register with either the Criminal Records Bureau or Access NI respectively.
