The aim of this module is to set out the grounds and circumstances which will lead an organisation to refer an individual to Disclosure Scotland for consideration for listing.

The module covers the following areas:

• Meaning of ‘harm’ and ‘risk of harm’
• Role of organisations in the referral process
• Referral information
• Failure to refer
• Protection from actions for damages

The module should take about 20 minutes to complete.
